Get Involved at your GP practice

At Radbrook Green Surgery we have a very active and involved Patient Participation Group, the group meet on a regular basis, they also arrange social events such as coffee mornings, Christmas meals and also volunteer at our Flu Clinics.

Their support is crucial, they are the voice of our patients, they review our mission statement, facilitate a weekly weigh in, recommend changes and also fundraise to fund specialist equipment to improve the healthcare we provide to our patients.

We are looking for more people to get involved, you don’t need to attend every meeting you could just be added to the mailing list. Do as little or as much as you like, after all volunteering is all about you not just the surgery.

Our next meeting is here at the surgery on Tuesday 21st January 2025 @ 3pm, if you would like to know more or attend the next meeting please email rgs.management@nhs.net or call into the surgery and ask for Wendy Faulkner. Who will then let the PPG secretary know.

Our Christmas coffee morning has been re-arranged and will now take place on Saturday 25th January 10am to 12pm (weather permitting) Everyone is welcome to attend there will be a raffle and also some information stands including the armed forces outreach team.

Information about the Armed Forces Outreach below:

The Armed Forces Outreach is designed to provide help and support to all military personnel, veterans, and their families. Working with many of the service charities and organisations the outreach assists and facilitates to ensure that current and former military personnel have access to the right support. This can be as simple as attending the various outreach locations for social engagement, to information, advice and guidance around housing, benefits, physical and mental health, and employment.

We have also formed close links with several businesses, charities, and organisations across Shropshire, many of whom have signed the Armed Forces Covenant to demonstrate their support.

A veteran is anyone that has served for one day. We also support spouses and widows/ widowers.

We encourage veterans to identify themselves at GP surgeries but reiterate that it does not give them priority appts. It can afford various pathways if an injury/ illness is related to time in service. It also allows HLA/ care coordinators to link in with the armed forces outreach for help and advice from a social prescribing angle.
