Introduction: We are a well established training practice with many connections in the world of training. Several of our former partners have been course organisers on the training scheme and Dr Hart continues that tradition today.
The Practice: Details are listed on this website and I would recommend a quick look to get a flavour of what we do. A quick one-sentance summary would state:
"Radbrook Green Surgery is a 9,500 patient, suburban, 5 partner training practice with all the facilities and attached staff you would expect from a modern, forward thinking group."
We are a happy organisation which strives and succeeds in maintaining good relations with each other and our staff. Our registrars are welcomed by all into this essentially very supportive environment.
Training: All the partners have been on accredited teaching courses and are all keen to be involved with training. There are ample opportunities to spend time with all members of the Primary Health Care Team to gain an insight into all aspects of Primary Care. You will have dedicated tutorial time each week, both in-house and as part of a local cluster group, a local innovation that we have set up with other local practices.
Much of the training however is the invaluable informal coffee-time chat mulling over problem cases. All members of the team are happy to discuss problems in this way.
One of the partners is a course organiser for the Shropshire Vocational Training Scheme (www.shropshirevts.com )and has an excellent insight into "how the system works".
We have a fully equipped video suite set up permanently in the Registrar's room.
Other training responsibilities in the practice: We have formal links with both Manchester and Keele Universities (http://www.keele.ac.uk) who send us final year medical students for four 8-week blocks per annum. We find this fun and there is usually good-hearted chat over coffee and the odd pint. If a Registrar wished, opportunities for teaching students would be possible.

In line with local policy, you would then need to contact Carole Coles to inform her that you would like to come here. The VTS will then arrange the placements, so that as far as possible, everyones wishes are taken into account.
